SENIOR COMPETITION COUNSEL (MONTREAL, CANADA)

Our large, international client has instructed us to recruit a Senior Competition Counsel to be based in Montreal, Canada. Key responsibilities include: development of and implementation of their global compliance and training program; maintaining communications and representing the client before antitrust regulators; advising on a wide range of antitrust matters including commercial agreements, compliance issues, antitrust investigations, ability to anticipate/mitigate competition.
The successful candidate will hold a law degree (with excellent academic profile), will be (or have been) admitted to the practice of law; have a minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience in competition law enforcement and counselling gained with a highly-regarded law firm(s), as in-house counsel, and/or with a competition regulator. Additional requirements include excellent written/oral communication skills, business mindset, ability to manage external counsel, ability to work well in a team, as well as the self- confidence to work with stakeholders of different levels of seniority and sophistication.
